Tips & Tricks || Christmas Greenery 2

Yesterday I shared how I added live greenery to really fill in a faux wreath, and today I've done it again with strands of garland.  I approach it pretty much the same way, with a few tweaks here and there.  I can also assure you that the garland in no way effects the TV function, it has been tested.

Ok, so here is the starting point with a $2.99 stand of garland - sad, pathetic, in need of some major loving.

The first thing I do, is

add another strand of garland and fluff it all up

.  Honestly waiting until after Christmas and snagging the strands on super deep discount is ideal.

Then just like with the wreath, I add cuttings of live greenery.  Here I used some clippings from bottom branches of Christmas trees, arborvitae, and yews.  All of which I snagged for free.

Next I added in some lights, because, well I like lights everywhere.

Finally I filled in with more greens where needed (I like saving the arborvitae until after the lights and fill in any spots that need it), pine cones and some sparkly picks.
