Sweet Tea

Around here we love sweet tea.  I think we could drink a gallon in  day between the two of us no problem.  Awhile back on pinterest I found this recipe for the best sweet tea ever.  The claim is, adding baking soda to the tea takes away the bitterness and makes the tea very clear, and holy cow it works.

Ingredients

5 - 8  Family size tea bags or 12 regular tea bags. I use 7 family sized

Luzianne brand

1 Quart  (4 Cups) - Boiling Water

3 Quarts (12 cups) - Cool Water

1 1/2 to 2 cups sugar

1/4 teaspoon  Baking Soda

Directions

1.  Sprinkle baking soda into a pitcher

(I use a 4 cup measuring cup).  A

dd Tea bags to the pitcher/baking soda and  p

our boiling water over tea bags.

Cover and allow to steep for 15 minutes (I just cover with a small plate since I don't have a lid)

2.  After the 15 minutes remove and toss out tea bags,  I always put the tea bags between two spoons and squeeze get all the tea out.  Add sugar and stir until completely dissolved, then add the cool water.

Refrigerate!

3.  Serve over ice, and enjoy.  Drinking from a ball jar not necessary but strongly encouraged.
