Nursery Mood Board

In light of the current events of our world, our birth and leading up to it looks very different from how we planned. Paul is not allowed to come to any of my appointments over the next few months, and I pray that our hospital does not change it’s policy in terms of allowing 1 guest, aka Paul, to the birth. He’s already going to miss out on a few more ultrasounds this pregnancy, and I hope nothing more. We are still a 3 months out from baby girl being born (I hope) so I’ve been focusing on what I can control and have fun with in planning for her arrival. So today I’m sharing our nursery mood board!

I tend to go bolder in kid rooms than in the rest of the house, I really take the opportunity to have a little fun. Our mood board still needs things like art and other textiles but the items above are either a “for sure” or I have already bought it, so I think it gives a pretty clear direction. We are using the crib Theo slept in, as well as the rocker we have from my parents. I have fond memories of a very little cali kitty loving that chair, and rocking Theo during our 2nd pregnancy, so it makes it even sweeter now. No nursery is done for me unless I paint something free or cheap… I bought a dresser on FB marketplace for $100 that I am very excited to redo. I’ve been wanting to redo a french provincial dresser for years, and when I found one for $100 I called it a win and bought that thing.

Right now her room is still just being used for storage while we finish the playroom. We also need to get Theo’s big boy bed made, so we have a crib to use with this baby. In reality the nursery isn’t happening as soon as I’d like. But, Theo slept in our room for the first 5 months, so we are in no rush to get baby girl’s room ready for her either. We are going to slowly work on her room, but we likely won’t have it done for another few months.

Did you have your nursery ready before the arrival of your little one, or does it take you months after like me?
