Master Reno + Living Room || New Carpet

FINALLY.  This was the day I had been waiting for since we bought our house 3.5 years before.  We got new carpet.  It was 100% Necessary.  We had already ripped the old bur bur carpet off the stairs and refinished them, but we still had the old carpet upstairs in our new room, and in our loving room.

Downstairs had been cleaned by us several times, and we hired pros to take a swing at it, but it smelled bad.  Like wet old animal, ugh.  There was no way I was going to bring a new baby home have them play on it.  Nope, nope, nope.  The carpet was just nasty.

So the day the carpet was installed I actually left the house since carpet can be pretty high in VOCs.  Paul said it smelled pretty bad so I'm glad I was gone.  So here is our living room with new carpet.  Oh so nice, and we play on it all the time.

In our master we chose to do carpet because the room is above the garage and we worried a hard flooring would feel too cold.  I'm very glad we went with carpet, it is so cozy.  We are still working on decorating it, we decided to do Theo's room first.  We couldn't finish our room until Theo and his large crib moved out, but he did and his room will be done in the next few weeks so I am excited!  But first remember where we started.

And now, our new room.

It is a wonder what a coat of paint & new carpet can do to a room in person.  I know the photos aren't all that shocking, but the change we feel is immense.

Honestly this is one of the best changes we have made to our home.  I feel so much better about how we are using our space, and the amount of joy it has brought me is ridiculous.
